Katherina is a very beautiful character in the taming of the shrew. She is a very independent character and is not very interested in marrying a man. Her sister Bianca is also very beautiful and she does want to get married, but in order to do that, their father Baptista wants Katherina to marry first as she is the older sister. This leads to Katherina considering who to marry but not every male is interested in marrying her despite her being beautiful. This is because she is a very angry, and independent person and peopledidn’t like that during the time the play is set. This is why they call Katherina a shrew.
there is only one person that is really interested in Katherina,his name is Petruchio. but as she is a shrew and she is very independent, he has trouble taming the shrew, meaning he is having trouble getting her to marry him.
